The washroom is a single use room, located very close to some tables at the back of the cafe. There isn't any obvious signage to point you in the right direction. Once inside, the room is clean; however the walls are white, so even though it's clean, all dirt shows and there is some visible grubbiness from normal use. 

The toilet paper is awful. The thinnest paper I think I've ever seen. The soap dispenser is automatic and the soap is scentless. The sink is fine. There is only a hand dryer option and no paper towel. 

The decor is simple. No extra effort. A piece of black and white artwork to match the rest of the cafe would really go a long way. There are some holes in the wall that need patching, where something was removed (likely a paper towel dispenser).

The door does have a hook though! Bonus! 

My recommendations: patch the holes, paint, add a nice piece of art, get better toilet paper, add a paper towel dispenser. 

Birthday Blogging

For a couple of years I've thought about starting a Public Washroom Review blog. I've even had people suggest it to me. Today is my 34th birthday. In the past year I've focused on finding hobbies that make me happy. I've taken some West African Drumming classes, joined the choir at work, bought a glockenspiel, started learning to read music, and am learning to play piano. I've made it a priority to get out for some alone time every now and then - I'm currently at a cafe alone, drinking great coffee and figuring out how to make a blog. 

My hope for this upcoming year is that I continue to carve out time and space for myself to learn now things and to prioritize myself. This blog will hopefully be a fun way to do so! 

I suppose the best way to start something is to...start! So I'll add my first review: Cortado Tasting Room in Bedford, NS.
